SUMMARY:Mine Water Geochemistry and Mine Water Sampling
DESCRIPTION:This five-day course provides a thorough introduction to mine water geochemistry and the processes controlling the chemical composition of mining-influenced water. Participants will learn to interpret water analyses\, identify relevant dissolved species and understand mineral dissolution\, precipitation\, redox reactions\, speciation and geochemical controls on water quality. Mine water sampling complements the geochemical content and demonstrates how representative samples and reliable field measurements support sound interpretation of hydrogeochemical processes.
